Beginning in the third century BCE, a number of Jewish authors told the story of the fallen angels anew, albeit in much greater detail. In what follows, we will look at three different texts, one from the third, one from the second, and one from the first century BCE. There is some evidence that these three texts build on each other, in the sense that the later authors were aware of the earlier texts and modified them to fit their own theological purposes.
