“You have me to help you. You don’t need anyone else.”
“You count on me to give you everything you need, because I can and I want to. I take care of you.” A little more softly, he adds, “And you take care of me. That’s how we will work. Okay?”
“Right now I just want to get home to you.”
“I fucking hate that his hands were on you,” he admits through gritted teeth. “It’s making me sick.”
“I can’t lose you. Ever.” Rare emotion pours from his voice. “You won’t. Ever.”
“I’m in love with you, Abigail Mitchell.”
“Don’t tell me not to be demanding on your behalf. I’ll never listen.”
“I’m going to give you the world, Abigail Mitchell.” You already have, I feel like saying. “I don’t need the world, Henry. I just need you.”
“How do you get me like no one else gets me?” he asks softly. “How do you know what I need like no one else does, like even I don’t? I can read you inside out and yet you surprise me constantly. How do you do that?” He looks genuinely baffled.
“Ever since you stepped into my life, you’ve been in it, for every second of every day. Marry me, Abbi. Let me love you in every way I know how to.”
My hot-blooded, foul-mouthed, depraved man who knows how to make me feel like no one else. Who has shown me a kind of love that I can’t live without.
My future husband. The father of my children.
