I want to be engaged to life and with life.

I believed words still had power when they are said by the right people.

I believe it’s true that the right people can say words that can change everything.

When people realize there’s no agenda other than friendship and better understanding, it changes things.

I’ve always wanted my kids to know that they were included in important things, that they belonged there, that they were invited.

There’s nothing like feeling included.

That the words people say to us not only have shelf life but have the ability to shape life.

Words spoken by kind people have the ability to endure in our lives.

Instead, what I’ve been writing down are all of the things I can remember that have shaped me, all of the words or phrases that have pinged me, all of the stories that have happened in my life. All in the hopes that one day, as I flip through those pages, I’ll see evidence of Jesus in them.

Pick something you aren’t just able to do; instead, pick something you feel like you were made to do and then do lots of that.
