High schools and colleges teach us to: be competitive (you make a personal decision to prove yourself when you get a lower rank or mark than that other guy or girl), do boring stuff (studying and practicing for exams), help others (teaching classmates complex topics), work in teams (the group study where you actually studied), handle last-minute pressure (cramming on the night before the exam), and a lot more things.
