Malayalis in Kerala were usually known for their lefist views. They usually stuck to it until they left Kerala to go to Gulf countries, in search of jobs with better remunerations. In the sands of those countries, their leftism got buried.

When you were doing your graduation, you were aiming for the top of Maslow’s Pyramid, what they call ‘self-actualisation’. By the time you graduate, you have tumbled down quite a bit and you are scrambling to gain some foothold in the lower echelons, trying to satisfy your safety and belonging needs and also trying to comprehend what your esteem needs are.

People are mostly stupid. It’s not easy for them to forget or forgive just because something came back from the past and brushed past them.
