All through that long, hot August, he learned so much from Rav. Some things Rav showed him, like how to change a light bulb or clip a dog's nails. But Sammy also learned by watching Rav. He was learning so fast, it felt to Sammy as though he was made out of dry dust, and he was soaking in rain, more and more, and it was filling him up and bringing him to life.
