Sometimes I Lie

He pushes himself inside me and I try to shut myself down.

The top of the hospital bed thuds against the wall, a metronome of revulsion beating steady inside my head. I know I can’t fight him. He’s too strong, I’d lose.

I don’t miss Mum and Dad.

The bag of drugs from the hospital seems to have worked.
