Among his fellow guests at the lunch hosted by Hitler on the opening day of the Games were Crown Prince Umberto of Italy and his sister Princess Maria of Savoy, the Crown Prince of Greece, Prince and Princess Philipp of Hesse, Prince and Princess Christoph of Hesse and Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden.
