The Food Storage program of the Church is first and foremost about obedience. Everything we do within the program of temporal preparedness can vanish in the coming day. Our obedience to this command qualifies us to become Zion individuals and to perform miracles when the need arises. Those who have not been obedient in following the prophets will not be able to become the men and women who can command “the very trees, the mountains, or the waves of the sea,” and have them obey. (Jacob 4:6)
