Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. —PROVERBS 16:3 NIV
You can be brave because you can trust God.
“The dreams you thought would come true in a certain time frame never did. You saw a life for yourself that you will never have. You can mourn that loss.”
But when you look them in the face, head-on, and let them go, you will see how God’s plan for your life, although different from what you expected, is a beautiful story of its own that you never could have dreamed up for yourself.
CHASE THE DREAMS THAT ARE ALIVE
your calling is the cash in the bank; your dreams are all the ways you can come up with spending that cash.
Your calling, the thing that God has placed in you for the good of the planet and the good of your heart, isn’t going anywhere.
You learn to recognize the voices of the people you love the most.
You can be fully you wherever you are. And it’s your choice.
Whatever you’re doing and whatever you’re asked to do, work hard.
You gain a lot when you work really hard.
WHO YOU DO LIFE WITH MATTERS AS MUCH AS WHAT YOU DO
As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. —PROVERBS 27:17 NIV
We’ve got to be brave enough to find balance.
It takes guts to love.
Friendship takes work. Friendship takes courage.
Be brave enough to stick with it. Brave enough to forgive and be forgiven.
We are to be a light wherever we go, even online.
If there are seeds of courage living in all of us, waiting to bloom, words are the sun and the water that cheer on those seeds to their fullness.
Brave people are willing to let go of everything as they hold tight to God, even when things start to change.
Even if God doesn’t rescue us from this, we still say no.
“I know what God can do, but even if He doesn’t, I still won’t worship idols. I will still worship the one true God.”
A lot of courageous noes make for some beautifully brave yeses.
Even. If. He. Doesn’t.
courage doesn’t equal right; courage equals stepping out and trying.
Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD! —PSALM 27:14 ESV
Be brave enough to be patient—not just outwardly, but inwardly.
These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever. —2 CORINTHIANS 4:17–18 MSG
Don’t let go because it hurts or because it is hard. Don’t let go because you feel like it is ridiculous to hold on. It’s not. Hold on.
You and I just have to be brave enough to hold on, even when our struggles feel like more than our hands can handle.
Don’t give up on life. Don’t give up on God. Don’t give up on yourself.
Hold on to hope, love.
You can trust in God even when you can’t see the future—because He can!
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. —ROMANS 8:28 NIV
Just remember—a brave person’s joy isn’t dependent on circumstances.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!” —JOHN 16:33 NIV
“Life is messy, hard, and weird. We don’t need to act surprised anymore.”
God knows that life is painful.
So, yeah, you can be sad. You can be angry. You can be confused. But you don’t ever have reason to despair. Even when it gets tragic and dark, do not despair. You are braver than that.
When you know who loves you, you know your safe places.
Brave people don’t let failure define them; they let failure teach them.
Brave people have courage because they know God loves them no matter what.
“I am deeply loved by God.”
God is God, and He loves you, so oftentimes a divine detour may just be His way of getting you to look up at Him and be brave enough to ask the hardest of hard questions, like, God . . . do I trust You, even if I don’t understand what You’re doing?
Perseverance builds character.
Brave people don’t give up. Brave people don’t quit. Brave people realize that we rejoice in our sufferings because it leads to perseverance and perseverance produces character, and ultimately, it brings us to the hope we have in Jesus. Hope is worth fighting for.
God has a purpose for your body—with all its imperfections and sicknesses.
Discipline is the work done on the practice field so you are ready for the big game.
God has given your body to you for a reason. He has a purpose for your life. Be brave enough to make your eating habits intentional.
You won’t meet your goals if you burn out.
