BE BRAVE: Do you have a sacred spot? Where is it? What does it mean to you? (If you don’t have a spot that feels sacred to you, find one! Make one!)
Jim Elliot said, “Wherever you are, be all there.”
Loving others means being present with them in their pain, being present with them in their joy. It means being all there.
be intentional about being present where you are.
Spending time in God’s creation, in His presence, will make you brave.
spend time in creation and remember how loved you are and how brave you can be.
that courage often looks like sacrifice and service.
Home is where we find peace, so to give from there, to sacrifice in that place, is to sacrifice deeply. I think it’s brave.
just kept giving—their space, their time, their money, their hearts.
Thank God for your home, for the place you live, and ask Him how you can be brave with your house.
How is your neighborhood different because you live in it? You can be brave enough to see those people around you, rather than just passing by. You can be brave enough to serve them and love them, and God will use you, friend. You will be living out your mission as a light in this dark world. BE BRAVE: Introduce yourself to a neighbor you don’t already know. Make a new friend with someone who lives near you.
God has placed you in your city for a purpose.
Why does it sometimes take more courage to talk about Jesus at home?
BE BRAVE: Volunteer in your city. Serve the place where you live in some way.
Late Show host Stephen Colbert said something like this: your country is like your family—you don’t just get to leave when you’re unhappy.
Brave people trust God with who is or isn’t in authority over them.
BE BRAVE: Pray for the leadership of your country.
If we want to see God glorified all over the world, we need to be brave enough to see courage in all its forms.
You need to see that the world is big and diverse.
Jerusalem is the only city God specifically asks us to pray for.
Jerusalem is prophesied to be the scene of Christ’s return in Acts 1:11 and Zechariah 14:4.
The world hated Jesus, but He was brave enough to give His life for it anyway.
The world hated Jesus, but He was brave enough to give His life for it anyway. What love.
The truth of who Jesus is and what He did on earth—the Son of God who came to earth to take on our sins—is the most courageous thing this planet has ever seen.
BE BRAVE: Thank Jesus for the courage He showed in all the Bible stories you have read about Him.
He’s going to come back and judge sin once and for all and destroy the enemy who has made this world such a broken and painful place.
Jesus is brave today.
He is still the humble King who came to earth, but His mission will be different when He returns.
BE BRAVE: Thank Jesus that He takes a risk on you over and over again. Thank Him that the grave did not hold Him down and that He is a risen and living King.
Courage isn’t just for mighty warriors. It’s for you (because you are becoming courageous). It’s for your relationship with God. It’s for your dreams and your calling and your work. It’s for your relationships with fellow humans.
BE BRAVE: What’s the biggest change you see in your life over the past few months?
take this day to reflect on what God has done. Reflect on the awesome miracles He has performed for you and in you and in the people around you.
