Ross agreed with Walker, and for that matter Theodore Roosevelt and Frances Willard, that white Americans of Anglo-Saxon stock had emerged as the world’s superior race, and he thought they were in danger of committing “race suicide” as the “inferior” races outbred them. This would become a common view among later Progressives.
