Believe it or not, Jesus himself gave us instructions. On his last evening with his disciples, he was celebrating Passover. This was an important religious feast, a covenantal meal that was a formal celebration of God’s relationship with his people. It recounted the night God freed Israel from Egypt, reminded them of their current relationship, and recalled the promise of the Messiah, God’s final redeemer.
