As I prayed night after night, the Holy Spirit began to show me that I needed to change the way I was praying. Instead of crying out to God for my situation to change, He led me to cry out for my heart to change. I learned an important lesson through that experience: when we stop praying for God to change our circumstances and start asking Him to change our hearts, that’s when we experience the peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7).
