“Do I look okay?” she asked, smoothing the fabric over her hips, and I’m pretty sure I looked at her like she was crazy. “You look amazing,” I told her, which immediately eased the tension between her eyebrows, and a little smile spread over her face. “So do you. But I mean, we already knew that would be the case,” she teased as she walked toward me, coming in for a quick hug before she turned to her parents to say goodbye. Thank God for quick hugs. As I watched his dick bounce hard enough against the front of his shorts to let me know it had to be heavy, my answer to that question was a firm “maybe”. But still. “Why would I be scared, when I don’t plan to sleep with him? Why are y’all doing this?” I laughed. “It’s been a whole what, five or six weeks since I got my heart ripped out of my chest? Waiting in your bushes and shit.” “I don’t have any bushes, baby,” he grinned. I lifted my shoulders. “Then… in your shower. In your cabinets.”

Naima’s lips parted a little, and then she narrowed her eyes. “See?” she said, wagging a finger in my direction. “This is the kind of thing – you – are the kind of man that makes it make sense that women even like men at all,” she laughed. “Many of your brethren are wild garbage, but you, my brother… You’re alright.”
