“I’ll take one also, sweetheart.” Hearing this new voice, I looked almost dumbstruck to Draven’s handsome brother who looked like some casually dressed angelic model.
“I don’t mind serving you…Uh, I mean it...! The drink that is.” Great start, Keira. I felt like taking a moment to slap my forehead and his smirk said that he knew it.
“Yes, well for $215,000 a bottle you should hope it tastes good.” I heard Draven groan aloud just as my mouth dropped.
“Sophia, it’s okay really. I get what you’re trying to do here but I think last night should be where it ends. I appreciate your effort in trying to set your brother up and you obviously just want to see him happy, but I really think we should both just take the hint.” I told her and the second I finished for some odd reason she scowled at the guy behind her.
“I am sorry if my actions have given you that impression of me, but you have to know, that is not how I feel about you.”
“You keep looking at me like that and we are going to have problems,” he told me and I felt like an idiot, looking away quickly and feeling the rejection and humiliation of it cut me deep.
“Vin, can you smell Keira’s feet?” I made some kind of weird choking noise, one they both ignored. “Nope, sure can’t,” Vincent replied winking at me.
My dark Angel of Hell stood looking down at me as I watched him with trepidation.
“My brother is many things, hothead being one of them but being used to handling a human heart is not something that comes naturally to him.”
“Point made but you have to understand that Draven has never loved this way before. He doesn’t know what it means to be in a relationship that is equal. He doesn’t know what it means to have to explain himself to another or be accountable for his actions. He has never known any other life, Keira and for all intents and purposes, he is still trying to rule over you, like he does his kingdom.”
“You must understand Keira, that no access has ever been granted to a human and even those of my own kind that are allowed to enter, do because I deem it so.”
