Reg E. would always get recognized in Baltimore when we were walking. They would kind of say, “Oh my God. I love you.” They would then turn to me and do a double take and go, “I hate you. I hated you.” If I’m ever recognized for The Wire, that’s generally the second sentence. “I fucking hated you, man.”
