Actors are particularly susceptible to seeing the world powerfully from the point of view of their characters. It’s what their job is. You never tell an actor who’s about to do a bad thing, “You’re a bad guy.” I’m always telling my actors when they’re about to do something bad or something morally transgressive, “You’re a good guy.
