doubt Patti Smith and Alabama Shakes and the Pixies on repeat were what he had in mind, but I don’t care. Cool isn’t what I’m looking for. I’m looking for the ache they all have. The map in their voices that leads to the place where I live, the place I didn’t know anyone else knew how to get to.

Mr. Phillips bring this funfest to an end, telling me that I can do it, telling Mom to call if anything comes up.
