After having spent the last three years with the sort of women who’d slash your throat for the simple pleasure of seeing how deep they could cut back to your spinal cord, she had a sixth sense about ill intentions, especially those executed under a cloak of darkness. The malice always rushed ahead of the deed, without any light diffusing it. Like a burst of cold air whipping ahead and pushing all the heat out of your body.
