When I asked a kindergarten teacher about the screening process, she assured me that it was not a high-stakes test that would make or break my daughter’s future, but rather an assessment tool that was used to determine whether a child was developmentally ready for kindergarten, and whether he or she might need extra assistance in the classroom.
