What most shoppers don’t realize about the grocery business is that big stores make their money buying products, not selling product. They focus on vendors who pay for the privilege of slotting their goods in the store. Opening up space to a vendor is what turns profit for them. Most supermarket buyers have become accountants.
When a business doesn’t focus on customers, it loses direction.
