“Bite me, lawman. I told you already; a Wallflower never leaves a woman behind. So you can take your righteous indignation and shove it where the sun don’t shine.”
Real attraction, one that melts your bones and leaves you unable to speak, leaves you tossing in your bed with a burning need that can only be tamed by one man, is completely different than a crush.
“The difference between infatuation and soul-deep, unadulterated attraction,” I replied with authority. Poppy’s eyes shot to the bar below, then back to mine. “How do you know the difference?” she asked curiously. “Simple,” I answered. “One makes your heart go pitter-patter.” “And the other?” she questioned on the heel of my answer. “Your heart doesn’t go pitter-patter. It stampedes like a wild mustang, never to be tamed.”
When she melted into him and opened her mouth, Nate threw a towel at them both and grumbled, “My patrons are tryin’ to eat. Take that shit back to my office.” Poppy snorted at Nate’s reply,
These women had no fear. Not a lick of sense. “Oh, boy, his eye is twitchin’,” Sienna mumbled. “That means he’s about to blow.”
“I knew when I saw you three sittin’ out back that trouble was a brewin’. When the three of you get together, you’re like a magnet for it. So, spill. What did you do?”
He looked ready to kill, which upped his hotness factor a thousand percent, and I wanted to bang my head against a wall until I got over this stupid attraction.
“Jesus. I thought fearless was cute until today.” “You love me,” she whispered back, and his face softened.
Rather than explain his reasons for coming, Bo grabbed her by the neck, jerked her to his body, and slammed his mouth over hers. There was a time to argue, and there was time to take matters into your own hands. Bo wasn’t good with words, so he’d let his actions do the talking.
this was the last first kiss either would have. Sienna belonged to him now. And God help any man who tried to take her from him.
“Sorry, ma’am. Detective Strawn threatened me with arrest if we let you back on a horse by yourself. You’re supposed to ride back with me.”
She was his reward for having survived the first twenty-eight years of his bitter existence, and he planned to savor each day of it for the gift that it was.
“Do you get it yet?” he whispered. “Mine to touch. Mine to taste. Mine to fuck until you’re breathless . . . Mine to worship.”
And the virgin part? Jesus. Just the thought another man hasn’t touched you drives me to distraction. I’m fuckin’ hard knowin’ I’m the only man who’ll ever hear you moan while I taste your sweet heat. Over the fuckin’ moon I’m the only man who will use his hands, his mouth, his cock to make your body burn.”
“Once I slip inside, you’ll belong to me completely.” Sienna sucked in a breath on a whimper and nodded.
“I’m…It’s just…It was everything I hoped it would be. Better than I could have imagined.”
“I’m not letting you go either,” she whispered back. “Good,” he returned,
“I’ve tasted all your bits, too.” I buried my face in his chest. “You’re a very naughty man.” “And you’re cute.” I peeked up at him, and he winked at me.
“We aren’t unpredictable, just so you know. We spent years keepin’ to ourselves, so now we’re just makin’ up for lost time.” “Don’t kid yourself.” Bo grinned. “You’re as unpredictable as a hornet, and the three of you together is like a swarm.” I narrowed my eyes. “Careful, or you’ll get stung.”
“Why?” he muttered. “Because your smile is like the sun, and when I look at you, I see a future with laughter, headaches, passion . . . and love. Any man would kill for that; work hard to keep it. Strive to make sure he didn’t give a woman like you any reason to look elsewhere.”
