If we are in the clutches of fear, we are more prone to try to manipulate situations to make ourselves look better. But when we remember that Romans 8:28 declares, “We know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (NASB), it frees us from the terror of being alone—which, alone, has the ability to drive us to compromise our standards.
