As this tradition developed, it broadened its Jesus narrative to address problems as they arose. For example, if the external God, who lived above the sky, was to take on human form, a landing field on which this deity could arrive on the stage of human life had to be prepared. God could not be forever bound by the limitations of human life, however, so there also needed to be a launching pad from which the incarnate God could be propelled back into God’s natural domain in the heavens.
