Anupama was marrying the son of B.N. Yugandhar, Rao’s other left-leaning official. The groom’s name was Satya Nadella. Despite a father and father-in-law who were committed socialists, Nadella would go on to become the global head of that quintessentially capitalist empire, Microsoft.
