For non-software companies, we have an obvious answer that I can express rhetorically. Why would they? They have no more incentive to specialize in helping customers get more efficient than they do to help them extract molars or fight parking tickets. These companies will interact with efficiencer firms in a pure customer-vendor capacity. They won’t have any desire to compete.
