Eventually, the earth will be absorbed by the sun, and the sun will collapse. In the face of these cosmic projections, belief in immortality is outrageously delusional. This has led some to distinguish between “medical immortality” and “true immortality.”13 The former applies when one cannot die from natural causes, while the latter applies when one cannot die from any cause whatsoever.
