But Hungary’s Viktor Orbán was right about one thing: Europe should have secured its external border before it scrapped its internal ones. The free movement of peoples is now threatened by the populist backlash against the dramatic increase of outside arrivals. The amount of money spent on Frontex, Europe’s fledgling border agency, is a fraction of what it needs to police the borders.
