Not Yet Married: The Pursuit of Joy in Singleness and Dating

I desperately searched for love but without my heart and hope anchored in Christ. So I would always end up back where I started, alone, only more insecure and ashamed.

I desperately want you to know that you were made for more than marriage—that marriage will never satisfy or fulfill your deepest needs and cravings. That hole in our hearts will swallow and destroy any relationship if we look to a person to make us happy or whole.

The problem is not that we are hungry but that we’re hunting in the wrong pantry. The cravings deep inside us are a mercy from God meant to lead us to God.

“In your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore” (Ps. 16:11).
