Stanford and Rounsaville pointed out the US Forest Service IMTs deployed as completely self-contained units and could be on-site within a matter of days. They brought their own tents, equipment, clothing, food, portable toilets, shower facilities, transportation, cooks, accountants, command organization—everything they needed to set up operations wherever their presence was required.
