Actual justice should be restorative, focusing on repairing the harm done by a crime. Restorative justice focuses on what the victims, community, and perpetrators need to be whole again, as opposed to our current approach, which focuses on punishing offenders and satisfying abstract legal principles. Increased support for restorative justice activists’ and community organizers’ involvement in the creation of policy and programs on how to handle online abuse would be groundbreaking.
