“How about we call a truce?” Austin asks. “I don’t think I can take any more. I almost died, and my testicles almost exploded.”
Lauren turns and points at him. “You, if I find out you helped him, it’s going to be on,” she hisses and leans in closer to him when she continues, “like Donkey Kong.” And then she walks away.
“Are you always this uptight?” My body stills while he continues, “Maybe if you loosened up a little, you would still be married.”
All the pranks in the world couldn’t have come close to hurting me as much as the words he just spoke did.
“I may have told Lauren that if she weren’t so uptight and she loosened up a little, that maybe her husband wouldn’t have left her and she would still be married.” I don’t even finish getting the words out before he’s pulling out his phone. “What the fuck are you doing?” “I’m making sure I clear my schedule for your funeral,”
“You fucked up so bad here, Austin. I’m not even sure if you actually realize the depth of what you’ve lost.”
“Aren’t you the one who says never say never?” “I also taught you how to be sensitive and kind-hearted. What happened there?”
“You drive me nuts! I can’t sleep! I can’t think! I can’t even fucking get anything done at work without thinking about you!”
She’s the drug and I’m the addict. I’ve never wanted someone so much in my life. Not just her body, though her body is meant to be worshipped, but her head, her heart. I want it all.
So, while my brain may not have liked him, I can admit that my heart and vagina lusted after him.
You’ve fucked every PA you’ve ever had.” “That was before. I’m a changed man. I went to the strip club yesterday to meet a client, and my dick didn’t even twitch. In fact, he was bored. I think he might have even yawned.”
“Only you. You drive me absolutely fucking crazy, and you keep me on my fucking toes. You make me want everything, and I’ve never wanted everything. I’ve only wanted me. Now, I want you and everything that comes with you. I want the dinners at the table. I want laughter. I want the kids’ banter. Fuck, I even want Rachel calling me Asshat, but not all the time.” I chuckle as I see her smile. “I want more Sundays like the one we had when we woke up together.”
“I would really, really like to be your boyfriend, but Karrie is my girlfriend, and it wouldn’t be fair to her.” “Oh, that’s totally okay. I give him to you,” Karrie says to Rachel. “No take backs, either.”
I really want to drive Gabe to hockey; it’s our thing.” He shrugs and gives me a smile. “I want to cook for you guys.” My eyebrows shoot up. “Okay, I want to be here to order out for you guys. Let me be that person for you.”
How have you not been sued for sexual harassment yet? Your guess is as good as mine.
“I love your mom more than you know,” he answers her, and me as well. His words bring tears to my eyes. There’s a softness, almost a reverence to his voice as if he’s talking to me, only me, as if we were alone. “I’ve never loved anyone the way I love your mom.”
“To the moon and back,”
“I wanted to tell you in some romantic way.” He opens my legs, stepping in between them, while I put my hands on his waist. “But this is our normal now.” He smirks at me. “And I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you. I love how much you love your children. I love how much you put up with from your sister, who is crazy, by the way.” I smile at that comment, thinking of last week when she made tofu burgers and didn’t tell him, and they were half raw inside. “I love how selfless you are, always putting everyone before yourself.” He kisses my lips softly, his lips lingering on mine. “I love

“If Ms. Camilla can sleep over naked at Dad’s, it’s ok that you sleep here.” He shrugs before going over to the refrigerator and grabbing the orange juice. “Yeah, she’s naked a lot,” Rachel agrees from her chair at the counter. “Rach,” Gabe says to her in warning. “And she says ‘oh, God’ a lot, too,” Rachel continues. “I don’t want to pray like that at night, Mommy. Once is good.”
“That is almost like watching porn,” I tell him. “You doing stuff like washing dishes, vacuuming, homework with Gabe. It’s mom porn.”
