God Has a Name

Because “the LORD” isn’t a name; it’s a title, like the doctor or the judge or the president. Calling God “the LORD” is like me calling Tammy “the wife.” That would be weird. Why? Because I’m in a close relationship with her, and that’s not the language of intimacy.

Here’s my favorite definition of God’s wrath: “his steady, unrelenting, unremitting, uncompromising antagonism to evil in all its forms and manifestations.”
