if you need to make a decision about something, for example, ‘Should I take this job?’, either state your choices out loud and let the pendulum show you right direction, or write down your options on separate pieces of paper and hover the pendulum over each option as you say them out loud. Finding energy points: if you’re at a sacred site and want to know where the high energy is, take out your pendulum and walk slowly. When the pendulum responds you know you’ve found an energy point.

HOW TO SCRY First, prepare the room: cast your circle, dim the lights, burn incense and do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Put whatever you’re using to scry with on a table at a convenient level, and relax with some deep, into-the-womb breaths. Look at your scrying object in a relaxed manner, focusing just past its surface (or past the flame in the case of a candle). Don’t be too concerned if you need to blink. Otherwise, just try to keep your mind blank, with the exception of the one question you may wish to ask. Don’t push yourself past 20 minutes the first few times you practise this.

BREATH AS MEDICINE Womb and Belly Breath Place one hand on your lower belly and relax your tummy muscles. Then slowly inhale through your nose, bringing air right down into the bottom of your lungs. You should feel your tummy rise, which expands the lower parts of your lungs. Continue to inhale as your ribcage expands outwards; and finally, your collarbones rise. What you’ll need: Distilled water or 100-proof vodka 9 drops ginger essential oil 9 drops orange essential oil 7 drops cinnamon essential oil 11 drops lavender essential oil 13 drops bergamot essential oil Glass spray bottle What to do: Under a waning or dark moon, add 80ml/3fl oz of vodka/distilled water to a 120ml/4fl oz bottle. Add the oils with love and intention, while repeating the mantra, ‘I am charmed and dangerous, I am Sorceress.’ Place the lid on the bottle, and shake well to combine the contents. Lightly mist your body, your bedroom, your sacred space or your yoga mat.
