To recap: we are animals whose core purpose is to connect with one another and, yes, mate. It’s in our nature! So why, specifically, do we wrap our sexuality and sexual choices in so much shame? Perhaps we are uncomfortable with urges that connect us to other creatures we see as primitive or dirty (“doggy style” isn’t necessarily looked at as reverence for man’s best friend). And if we’re squeamish about simple, straightforward sex, we’re even more uncomfortable with the complexities of our deeper sexual selves.
