We approach God through faith in the blood of Jesus, not by trying to keep the Ten Commandments. (see Galatians 2:16-21; 3:15-25.) When we accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord we give Him our heart (not mental credence), which represents our inward most parts. In exchange, He gives us His nature, which is without spot or blemish. It is pure and holy, therefore acceptable to God. His righteousness is imputed or counted to us. God sees us with the righteousness of Jesus (see 2 Cor. 5:21).
