I might have asked how he was doing. Instead of being amused by his reputation for partying hard, I might have been concerned about the challenges he was facing. I might have even prayed for him or with him. I don’t know whether knowing those things would have made any difference, but I would like to believe they would have. I would like to have tried to help him. I saw the best of Baltimore Jack on a shuttle bus on the morning of Day 12. Unfortunately, Baltimore Jack didn’t see the best of me.
