Throughout this period of the 2020s, the economic pain will increase, felt most by the industrial workers, who will sink from middle class to lower-middle class. They will lose even the minimal elements of American success in homes, vacations, tuition for children in college. These will slip away from them and from their children. The technological gap between the microchip and the follow-on core technology will continue to cut into productivity and continue to discourage investment.
