The image of a heavenly body, made from the light of stars and swiping at mortals with a ghostly sword,
“Someone once told me that Yahweh would make himself known to me, if I searched. And he did. Perhaps he will make himself known to you.” What a strange notion, that a god would call to someone. As if a deity would somehow speak to a lowly mortal. To a woman. To me.
Odd how much had changed in my perspective since Yahweh had healed me, as if someone had poured warm oil on my heart, making it pliable, shaping it into something new and unexpected.
A god who was limited to a mountain—a god who demanded the flesh of children to be satisfied—was a god who was too small.
Just as Yahweh had devised a purpose for me, before I had even known he was beside me—I’d never been alone.
