The two sides of justice that I’ve been discussing here both stem from one perspective: What does justice look like for human beings? There’s nothing wrong with that, but it recently occurred to me to turn that question around and ask, What does justice look like from God’s perspective? As I mentioned before, as human beings, we don’t really want justice in its strictest sense—because we would be condemned. But God, who is holy and perfect, has no reason to fear justice.
