In fact, much of the inner work can be boiled down to faithful contemplative prayer practice.
That’s truly the fruit of real conversion, when our lives (not our words) validate authentic transformation.

The Enneagram is not a tool for self-absorption but instead a map for self-liberation.
Discovering the Enneagram: An Ancient Tool for a New Spiritual Journey.

Part of the inner work invitation for the Anchor Points is to reconnect

Nines flee or take flight, which is consistent with their tendency to function in the role of peacemaker, always avoiding confrontation.
That’s what we’re trying to do here: wake up from the dreams or illusions that often seem more real than our True Self.
Childhood Wound jolted us into the pain of humanity and forced us to fall asleep, because sleeping became easier and seemingly safer than facing reality.

In disintegration, Ones believe their own lie that they alone are the only ones who understand and value excellence—that no one else has the capacity to grasp what is required for goodness to be actualized in the world.
I relate to some of the light side of one, oh but do I really think I’m the only one who knows excellence. Idk. I don’t think so. But I did devolve into jealousy and resentment. I’m also Really hard on myself.

There’s a sort of line of violation that, once crossed, awakens Nines to their anger; it comes out suddenly, clumsy and intense, catching them
and everyone else off guard.
Once their anger is exposed, Nines feel guilty for feeling it and once again try to hide it from themselv...

Fundamentally these three types are constantly frustrated by their own idealism. Growing in awareness helps them recognize their desperate need to rest in God, discovering wholeness through prayer.

God is love, and in consenting to silence, we allow Love to wash over us, inviting us into a “new we,”
Real transformation takes place when we pair the self-awareness that the Enneagram stimulates with the silence of contemplative practice.
