“How did the interviews go?” I buttoned my dress. “Good. We hired Miles.” “Miles?” “The guy who interviewed with me before. He was nice and I felt bad beating him out of the job.” Brushing my hands away, he closed the last button. “You’re fond of him.” Using my caveman voice I said, “Hale no like when Rayne has male friends. Hale needs to get with times.” He caught my chin and bit my lip again. “Rayne is smart ass.”
