Chapter 1
Cindy
There's so much wrong with the attitudes of these people, and with their language, I can't begin to note it all. There's no way this is a Christian book or that these are Christian characters. There's also a lot of blood and gore.

Besides it’s okay to be selfish—sometimes.”
Cindy
No it's not ok to be selfish ever.

“No way it could be better than this—unless it’s moonshine, that is.”
Cindy
Beer, moonshine, weed.....being selfish.....they don't sound like Christians.

“Jesus Christ, Alan,”
Cindy
I hate it when my Lord's Name is used this way. I won't be keeping this book. Too much foul language. Even once is too much, but it's been every chapter.

because of that, have done whatever’s been needed over the years to kill off the population. I admit, their methods have always been much more subtle. Mass forced vaccinations, fluoride in the water, food additives that cause cancer and destroy reproductive organs.

Mass forced vaccinations, fluoride in the water, food additives that cause cancer and destroy reproductive organs. You have to be kidding!?! But it looks like the author actually believes this.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is like an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
Cindy
This quote sure is wrong. Guess the author doesn't understand that all humans have a sin nature. We aren't basically good, we're basically evil. Some are just more evil than others.

Can’t we just walk in the water for a while and then hike out?” Christian shook his head. “That’s a common misconception. The water will drip off of you and leave your scent all over the woods, and as it evaporates, it’ll end up in the air as well.”

“Oh—shit,” Amy said quietly. She placed her hand over her mouth, partially in an attempt to soften her voice, but also because she realized she was in a church.
Cindy
Sigh.....just wait till you're, standing before the God who created you and this universe!

Want a beer?” Fred asked jokingly. “Damn right, I do,” Lauren affirmed.
Cindy
What kind of people are they? This is her 16th birthday and it's full of swearing and drinking.

“We live in a cul-de-sac. Most of our neighbors have kids. The Thompsons next door, work from home and have four kids. There’s an older lady—Mrs. Randolph. She lives by herself across the street. There’s also Mr. Hobson on the other side of us. He’s an asshole, so if the shooter gets him it won’t bother me.”
Cindy

Madison, who was beyond belief once again, that her best friend had been involved in another confrontation with her boss, looked at Lauren with cross eyes. “Lo, what the hell? Are you nuts? Do you want to get fired?”
Cindy
Is this supposed to be two good kids??? This author has proven he knows nothing about God or what God requires from us, and obviously doesn't have very good morals either. But that's normal for the unsaved.
