The constant and unrelenting accumulation of wealth by the church under the guise of making God happy is shameful. The un-abashed hypocrisy of constantly pleading for God to do something for the poor, the homeless and the starving, all the while plotting to spend millions for unneeded buildings and equipment is indeed shameful.

people would be free to recognize their God in all things; more importantly, they would be free to accept God’s Will (which is each and every occurrence), rather than attempting to “do” God’s Will which is unknowable. We would be free then to concentrate on the Lord’s Prayer and the commands that I believe Jesus gave us to love God with our all and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Loving your neighbor as yourself is a full time job indeed, and precludes any possibility of being more blessed or favored by God.
