Did the Harappans Compose the Vedas? Despite the abundance of archaeological remains, we know little about the Harappans themselves. We are not sure what languages they spoke, what gods they worshipped, and their script remains stubbornly undecipherable. We do not even know if it was a unified empire or a network of independent city states that shared a civilization. These matters remain hot topics of acrimonious debate among academic historians.
