They also introduced their script which was originally written left-to-right and right-to-left on alternate lines; not such a silly idea if you think about it. The Sabean script would evolve into the Ge’ez script of the kingdom of Aksum and survives as the modern Ethiopian script (although it is now written exclusively left-to-right).
