Phatic language difficulties are particularly revealing, and include things like leave-takings (‘Goodbye’, ‘Adios’, ‘Hasta la vista, baby’ and ‘Bye-bye’), greetings (‘What’s up!’, ‘Dude, what is it?’, ‘Hello!’), gratitude expressions (‘Thanks’, ‘Oh wow, I can never repay you!’) and so on.
