the concept of time travel is conspicuously absent from most of human history. The Bible, along with other religious texts and orally transmitted folktales, are full of stories of talking animals, gods, and other supernatural beings. They tell of animals transmuting into humans and vice versa, epic voyages over vast spatial distances, Methuselah-like humans whose lives have spanned centuries, magic, and resurrections.
