“Your very fate as a destined hero,” Rex responds with a serious look on his face. The room is oddly quiet as everyone looks at Rex. With a loud groan, the silence is broken by Keans. “You’re so serious, Rex. Don’t make it sound like he’s the only hope against a demon horde or anything else from some fairy tale. Boy, we’re just talking about what you’re going to be doing from here on.”
Still don't know if rex was joking or not here. Hope he was. Having people who already know about him or were looking for him, find him already would be annoying. Give the lad a chance to escape all that bs at least.
Also if it WAS just a joke, as jokes go, it was pretty poor. And poorly written, Rex wouldn't be the sort to make a joke like that, you've portrayed him as the grumpy sort.
